Neighbors,

As you have probably heard, we have had an unusually high amount of bear sightings in the past couple of months and several people have voiced concerns about this.

As a reminder, feeding bears endangers the bears and all of us as the bears become less afraid of us and are referred to as “nuisance bears.”  If this happens, wildlife officials may have to be called in to destroy the nuisance bears.  None of us wants this to happen, but we have to be sure that our cabin owners and guests remain safe.

Please be sure that all trash/garbage is kept in a bear-proof container and not left outside or in your car.  Bears have been known to break into cars.  Also, please don’t leave any food outside for any of our four-legged wildlife.  All food attracts bears, and we don’t want them to think they can look to us for their food source.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Best regards,
